Severe Diesel Outages in Pennsylvania and Ohio

Diesel fuel marketers in western Pennsylvania up through eastern and northern Ohio are struggling with acute diesel supply shortages, including some terminals that are out of product, OPIS has reported. The severe fuel shortage has some truckstops expressing concern that they may soon run of fuel.

Pittsburgh, Altoona and Harrisburg, Pa., along with some areas west into Ohio from Youngstown and north into Cleveland have reported outages of diesel and other distillate fuels.

Utilities cut off from natural gas supplies have been utilizing diesel in massive quantities both on a spot and rack basis, OPIS reports, which is disrupting fuel supplies at terminals from Delaware north into New England and west into Ohio.
