Exchange New Ideas through Conversations

Conversations. What does the word mean? A dictionary says it is a plural noun. This plural noun is a talk, especially an informal one, between two or more people, in which new ideas are exchanged. We gathered at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort in February for three-plus days of great events during NATSO Connect. There were 81 first-time attendees within the terrific group of operators who registered. More

Reflections on a Successful NATSO Connect

Exceptional is the word that I believe best describes NATSO Connect 2019. Lisa Mullings, NATSO’s CEO and president, and all of her staff have to be thrilled with the success of this year’s event. I would name everyone, but I might inadvertently leave someone out. Congratulations to all as NATSO Connect matures and improves. More

Change Is Always an Opportunity, but in 2018, it Became a Benchmark at NATSO

NATSO’s 2018 was certainly one of great opportunity. NATSO Connect came to Nashville with a blaze of success. Thank You For The Opportunity To Serve As Your Chairman

For the past three years I have had the privilege of serving as chairman of NATSO’s board of directors, and I have so many thoughts and memories as my term comes to a close. I am grateful for the many relationships and connections I’ve made not only as chairman, but also as a NATSO member. I attended my first NATSO trade show in New Orleans 1989 and my affinity for the association and the members has continually increased since then. More

Our Truckstop Employees Are Our First Customers

All across the country, unemployment levels are hitting record lows. In some communities, unemployment rates are as low as 2.5%, and while that is good news for the economy, it can make it harder and harder for business owners to find the top-quality employees they need. We are all aware of the massive driver shortage, but fleets aren’t the only ones facing a lack of workers. Many truckstops and travel plazas are as well. The help situation is critical in all of our locations. We have to attract and retain top talent in order to keep our customer-service levels high. More

Taking the NATSO Foundation's Pulse

As we cross into the second half of the year, now is a great time to stop and reflect on all that the NATSO Foundation is doing in 2018 to help advance the educational needs of the truckstop and travel plaza industry. More

Strategic Plans Help Us Stay Focused And Move Forward

As an association, NATSO is tasked with bringing value to our members and our partners, and to ensure we continue to do that, NATSO’s board of directors and staff have been working together on the association’s long-term strategic plan. More

Invest in Yourself in 2018

Every new year brings a fresh start and new opportunity, and I hope you are as excited as I am for a promising year ahead. More

Join Together to Help the Industry Thrive

As truckstop and travel plaza operators, one of our biggest advantages is our ability to learn from each other and industry thought leaders as we prepare for the future. More

See Your Business with Fresh Eyes

Getting feedback is crucial to improving our operations. At the end of the day, the customer’s view point is the most important one. They are the people who pay our paycheck and we need to make sure we’re talking to them on a regular basis. More
