In speaking with MTR host Eric Harley at NATSO Connect 2019, Wlazlowski Neuman spoke about the many initiatives undertaken by the truckstop industry as well as the collective effort of the entire transportation sector in spotting and reporting potential human trafficking.

Wlazlowski Neuman spoke about NATSO's participation on the Department of Transportation's Human Trafficking Advisory Council Subcommittee on Training and Awareness.

The full committee includes 15 representatives from organizations that fight human trafficking as well as academics and representatives of the various modes of transportation, including trucking, bus, airlines and ports. Wlazlowski Neuman serves as Vice Chair of the group’s Subcommittee on Awareness and Training. Additional subcommittees focus on research and information sharing and protocols and policy development.

The advisory council aims to develop strategies that state agencies and local transportation stakeholders can utilize to implement anti-human trafficking initiatives and must submit its recommendations to Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao by July 3, 2019.
