Contactless and frictionless payment options have been growing in popularity as customers look to speed transactions and quickly get in and out of stores. At NATSO, we have encouraged our members to embrace technology geared toward speed-of-service for years.
Now the COVID-19 pandemic has added to that as customers and retailers look to minimize contact as well as address labor stresses.
Jack Hogan, Director of Strategic Partnerships with Mashgin, joins the podcast to talk about technology in the augmented checkout space. Mashgin, a new NATSO allied member, is a leader in the touchless self checkout space. Their kiosks use computer vision to instantly ring up multiple items, speeding up transactions as much as 400%.
Hogan brings his expertise to walk listeners through the trends in this technology, store layout needs, speed-of-service advances and ideas for redeploying labor that traditionally had to remain stationed at the checkout.
