Fuel Retailers Urge EPA to Issue Emergency Summertime E15 Waiver

Added on: March 7, 2024

Abstract:

In a letter sent to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), NATSO urged the Biden Administration to issue an emergency waiver for summertime sale of gasoline blended with up to 15 percent ethanol (E15). In the letter, NATSO argued that geopolitical factors that necessitated action from EPA during the 2022 and 2023 summer driving seasons continue to persist. Allowing E15 to be sold during the 2024 peak driving season, NATSO wrote, will help to ensure the nation does not experience disruptions in the fuel supply or higher costs for consumers should unforeseen circumstances tighten supplies.
