ALEXANDRIA, VA — NATSO, representing America’s travel centers and truck stops, today announced that EVgo has joined NATSO as a Chairman’s Circle member.

EVgo is one of the nation’s leading public fast charging providers. With more than 1,200 fast charging stations across 47 states, EVgo strategically deploys localized and accessible charging infrastructure by partnering with leading businesses across the United States.

“Travel centers have always been places where America’s drivers refuel, and that will continue whether the vehicle is powered by gasoline, diesel or electricity,” said NATSO CEO Max McBrayer. “As electric vehicles become a larger part of the transportation landscape, companies like EVgo will play an important role in helping travel centers and fuel retailers integrate fast charging into their locations. We are excited to welcome them as a Chairman’s Circle member.”

Joining NATSO’s Chairman’s Circle represents an opportunity to become more involved in the broader truck stop and travel center industry and the issues facing fuel retailers nationwide.

“EV charging is a rapidly growing industry driven by increasing consumer demand across the country,” said Marcy Bauer, EVgo senior vice president, customer experience deployment. “At EVgo, we consistently see that the most successful charging sites are those located with amenities such as retail, dining and restrooms. This makes truck stops a good fit for deploying fast charging infrastructure alongside traditional fueling offerings.”

EVgo’s data shows that a substantial majority of EV drivers shop or access amenities while charging. By collocating EV charging infrastructure with the amenities provided by truck stop and travel centers, EV charging providers and the truck stop and travel center industry are well positioned to grow together to provide this essential infrastructure for the more than 6 million EVs on the road throughout the country.

Through its Chairman’s Circle membership, EVgo will work with NATSO members to advance fast charging infrastructure across the country to ensure drivers have access to reliable charging wherever they travel. “We’re excited to deepen our collaboration with the NATSO team and members to advocate together for the evolving needs of drivers and truck stops,” said Alex Beaton, EVgo director, market development and public policy.

NATSO’s Chairman’s Circle is an exclusive group of industry suppliers committed to supporting travel center operators through innovative products and services. Chairman’s Circle members contribute invaluable resources and expertise, ensuring the association’s continued success in addressing industry challenges and promoting sustainable growth.
