The NATSO Foundation Seeks Applications for Newly Created Technology Steering Council

/

Technology is shaping the future of travel centers and helping operators increase efficiency, enhance the customer experience and improve decision-making. The NATSO Foundation’s new Technology Steering Council is bringing together technology experts to share their insights and knowledge of technology-related trends to help steer the industry.

“Convenience, speed and innovation are essential within the travel center industry, and technology has the potential to reshape the way reshape the way locations operate,” said Amy Toner, executive director of the NATSO Foundation. “We’ve formed the Technology Steering Council to ensure travel centers’ capabilities evolve at the same rate or faster than our customers’ expectations.”

The council is currently accepting applications for new technology vendor members. Technology Steering Council members will be chosen based on their ability to lead the truck stop and travel center industry on technology issues. Those interested can apply online at https://www.natso.com/natso-foundation-technology-steering-council/.

Supplier representatives who serve on the council are asked to donate to the foundation at the $5,000 level.

“Technology is advancing quickly in our industry, and travel centers are embracing it faster than ever,” said Christine Schoessler, Chief Operating Officer for NATSO. “The Technology Steering Council brings together top vendors to keep pushing that progress and help travel centers stay competitive and meet customer needs.”

The technology experts will design the annual Technology Forum at NATSO Connect as part of their responsibilities. Each steering council member will also host one of the attendee discussion tables during the Technology Forum.

Additionally, they will serve on a planning committee for a Fast Forward Focus Tech Trends Panel, and they will be the foundation’s first “go to” subject matter experts when the foundation is looking for subject matter experts for articles and speaking opportunities. Meetings will be held virtually bimonthly.

The NATSO Foundation board along with Schoessler and Toner will review applications.
