Heather DeBaillie, vice president of marketing and operations for CAT Scale Co., recently concluded a three-year tenure as chairperson of the NATSO Foundation, marking a significant milestone in her long-standing commitment to the foundation and the truck stop and travel center industry.

“Heather has been a leading voice in shaping the image of our industry,” said Darren Schulte, interim CEO of NATSO. “Her leadership, vision and dedication have played a crucial role in advancing the foundation’s mission and strengthening our industry’s work.”

Schulte honored DeBaillie during the Opening Keynote at NATSO Connect 2025. In addition to serving as the chairperson, DeBaillie has been an active member of the foundation’s board since 2016, serving in various leadership roles and helping to drive key initiatives.

The NATSO Foundation is pleased to announce it has awarded $25,000 in educational scholarships through the Bill and Carolyn Moon Scholarship program to five students with ties to the truck stop and travel center industry.   

“Through the incredible generosity of travel center companies, individuals and vendor companies, we were able to again provide these scholarships,” said Amy Toner, Executive Director of the NATSO Foundation. “The Bill and Carolyn Moon Scholarship Program has been awarding scholarships for more than 30 years.”

Buying fuel is a complicated process, and determining the best approach helps operators increase profitability while minimizing risks.

The NATSO Foundation has created this toolkit to give operators a broad understanding of available fuel types, including renewable fuel, and spot purchasing vs. index-based purchasing while also offering insights into choosing branded vs. unbranded fuel and building supplier relationships.

The toolkit was created in collaboration with TAC Energy.
