Top Trucking Economist to Share Insight on the Year Ahead at The NATSO Show

/

During The NATSO Show 2017, scheduled to be held Jan. 21-24, truckstop and travel plaza operators from around the country will convene in Savannah, Ga., to gain insights essential to business planning. As part of this year’s learning, Bob Costello, senior vice president and chief economist at the American Trucking Associations (ATA), will share his outlook for the economy, freight volumes and the trucking industry to help truckstop or travel plaza executives prepare for the year ahead. Costello’s session is sponsored by Chevron Products Co.-Global Lubricants-Americas Region.

Costello said, “2016 has been a tough year for the trucking industry, plagued with soft freight volumes and excess capacity. But as I look out on the horizon, I see the sun poking through the clouds. In my session, I’ll let the NATSO members know what they can expect from motor carriers and drivers in 2017.”

The performance of the trucking industry has a direct influence on operations within truckstops and travel plazas and many of the challenges within the trucking industry can create opportunities for NATSO’s members. Costello has been a popular speaker at The NATSO Show in the past, and his insight and experience has helped NATSO members shape their plans and offerings.

“Our goal at The NATSO Show is to present industry operators with the information and guidance they need to make the best decisions for the future of their businesses,” said Pamela Hayes, vice president of business development for NATSO. “Bob Costello’s session is one of several that take place throughout the show to help operators increase their industry knowledge, gain business intelligence and see new products.”

NATSO has hand selected the best thought leaders to guide operators’ short- and long-term plans. To see the full lineup of show speakers and educational sessions, visit www.natsoshow.org.
