The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) issued an amended regional declaration of emergency for Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi.
The Regional Emergency Declaration exempts motor carriers from Parts 390 through 399 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations to provide direct assistance to the emergency in the affected states and ensure the immediate transportation of supplies, goods, equipment, fuel and persons for the purposes of relief from Hurricane Sally.
The agency also said it will not enforce the Temporary Operating Authority Registration fee for those motor carriers requesting temporary operating authority to provide emergency relief under the regional declaration of emergency.
