The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) extended its waiver for Hours-of-Service (HOS) restrictions for haulers of gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, ethyl alcohol, and heating fuel including propane, natural gas, and heating oil until August 31, 2022. The May 27 announcement also explicitly added diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) to the list of covered fuels.

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration granted a five-year exemption from the 30-minute rest break requirement for truck drivers hauling petroleum products. Effective April 9, under certain conditions, fuel trucks can operate for 12 hours without triggering the rest break requirement.
