President Approves Disaster Declaration to Help Businesses Recover from Hurricane Laura

/

President Trump approved a major disaster declaration, providing assistance for disaster survivors in Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron and Jefferson Davis parishes. That assistance can include grants, low-cost loans, and other programs to help individuals and business owners recover from the effects of the disaster.  The major disaster declaration is in addition to the emergency declarations for ArkansasLouisianaMississippi and Texas, to cover emergency actions taken by state, local and tribal officials.

  • For those in the impacted parishes, the fastest and easiest way to get assistance is to apply online at DisasterAssistance.gov.
  • Applicants also can use the FEMA app or call 800-621-3362 or (TTY) 800-462-7585 to apply for disaster assistance and find referrals to other local, state, federal and voluntary organizations.

NATSO also has prepared a list of Hurricane resources to help members recover from the storm. Those resources can be found here.
