NATSO Foundation to Award $500 for Best Idea at The NATSO Show

/

The NATSO Foundation today announced that it will award $500 during the NATSO Show 2014 to the independent truckstop or travel plaza operator who generates the best new idea for improving truckstop operations.

The $500 prize, which will be awarded during the 2014 Great Ideas! for Independent Operators Session, scheduled to be held during the NATSO Show in Nashville, Tenn., Jan. 26-29, 2014, is designed to encourage truckstop operators to facilitate new ideas and solutions to common problems facing the industry’s independent operators.

“Most great ideas take a long time to evolve, and they often need to collide with other ideas, which is why the Great Ideas! for Independent Operators Session is the perfect venue for those in the travel plaza industry to find their next best practice,” said Tom Heinz, chairman of The NATSO Foundation Board of Directors and president of Coffee Cup Fuel Stop.

The annual Great Ideas! for Independent Operators Session is an information-sharing event that provides a platform where operators can discuss and swap ideas for best business practices among their peers. During the 2013 Great Ideas! for Independent Operators Session, operators shared ideas for successfully promoting specials within the travel store, marketing diesel exhaust fluid, selling biodiesel and managing 24-hour food service offerings.

“Brainstorming with your peers and tapping into their successful practices are some of the best ways to make a business better,” Heinz said. “Being able to bounce that information off of each other is invaluable.”

The NATSO Show 2014 will take place in Nashville, Tenn., Jan. 26-29, 2014, at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and Convention Center. Truckstop and travel plaza operators along with industry suppliers should register on The NATSO Show website.
