The Senate will continue to debate the bipartisan $1 trillion infrastructure package, as lawmakers process hundreds of amendments leading up to an eventual vote. So far, the infrastructure bill remains largely unchanged with the Senators adopting just seven amendments to the measure yesterday.

Among the amendments adopted was a measure offered by Sen. Gary Peters (D-Mich.) and Mike Rounds (R-S.D.) related to cybersecurity. Sen. Peters said the amendment would align cybersecurity provisions for the Department of Energy within the infrastructure bill with existing law, and require DOE to coordinate with the Department of Homeland Security on cyber efforts. The amendment passed 96 to 2.

The Senate is working to pass that bill (H.R. 3684) before leaving for the August recess on Monday. Senator Schumer has said the Senate is going to remain in session until it finishes the work.
