The NATSO Foundation Seeks Applications for Newly Created Food and Beverage Steering Council

/

Food is a critical part of truck stops and travel centers’ offerings, and it continually helps locations stand out from the competition. The NATSO Foundation’s new Food and Beverage Steering Council is bringing together experts to share their insights and knowledge to help steer the industry in this important profit center.

“QSRs, beverage companies, food consultants—these types of companies all have a wealth of knowledge to guide travel center operators on their food offerings,” said Amy Toner, executive director of the NATSO Foundation. “We’ve formed the NATSO Foundation Food and Beverage Steering Council to ensure travel centers remain relevant amidst evolving consumer food, buying, and travel habits.”

The council is currently accepting applications for new vendor members. Food and Beverage Steering Council members will be chosen based on their ability to lead the truck stop and travel center industry on food issues. Those interested can apply online at https://www.natso.com/natso-foundation-food-and-beverage-steering-council/.

Supplier representatives on the council are asked to donate to the foundation at the $5,000 level.

The experts will design the new Food Forum at NATSO Connect as part of their responsibilities. Each steering council member will also host one of the attendee discussion tables during the Food Forum. Additionally, they will be the foundation’s first “go-to” subject matter experts when the foundation is looking for experts for articles and speaking opportunities. Meetings will be held virtually bimonthly.

The NATSO Foundation board, along with Toner, will review applications. Participants are limited to non-competitors. (Vendors should apply here.)
