The Washington State Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) plan to conduct a series of meetings in Bellevue, Mercer Island and Seattle between now and Nov. 6 to collect public input on whether tolling as well as state or regional taxes, mileage fees, or federal funding should be used to fund new highway capacity.
10-09-2013 NATSO has joined the Alliance for Toll-Free Interstates (AFTI), a new coalition of individuals, businesses and organizations advocating for solutions to the country’s growing transportation needs without tolling existing interstates.
09-19-2013 NATSO, the association representing travel plazas and truckstops, rejected a report that pushes for widespread tolling. The Sept. 12 report was prepared by the Reason Foundation, an organization that has long supported interstate tolls.
