Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley (D) last week unveiled a new transportation funding plan that would lower the state’s excise tax on gasoline and replace it with a sales tax on the wholesale price. The governor appears to be following the lead of neighboring state Virginia, which passed a similar plan last month.

NATSO member Clean Energy Fuels is collaborating with GE to expand the infrastructure for natural gas transportation in the United States. As part of the project, Clean Energy will buy two MicroLNG plants from GE Oil & Gas. Each plant will support fueling stations along critical transportation corridors and has the capacity to produce 250,000 gallons of LNG per day.
