NATSO Members Invited to Help Fight Human Trafficking in Alabama

The NATSO Foundation will join the Alabama Attorney General’s Office, the Alabama Motor Truck Association and Truckers Against Trafficking October 22 in sponsoring a virtual coalition meeting aimed at coordinating ways to fight human trafficking within the state.

The meeting is scheduled to be held Oct. 22 from 10-11:30 a.m. Central Time, and NATSO members are invited to attend this meeting. Registration is free and closed to members of the press.

The agenda includes a human trafficking 101 presentation by the Alabama Attorney General’s office, a law enforcement panel discussion as well as breakout sessions on how to create local partnerships to combat human trafficking.

State coalition meetings provide an opportunity to educate members of the business community, transportation and law enforcement about human trafficking as well as serve as an open forum to discuss human trafficking trends in regional areas.

Law enforcement panels delve into local trends, share case studies, discuss victim-centered approaches to assisting potential victims and offer recommendations for industry partners.
