NATSO Analysis: USDA Grants for Renewable Fuel Infrastructure

The U.S. Department of Agriculture plans to award up to $100 million in competitive grants to expand the sale and use of renewable fuels, including biodiesel. Under the Higher Blends Infrastructure Incentive Program, USDA will award $14 million to expand the infrastructure for higher blends of biodiesel and $86 million for higher blends of ethanol in an effort to increase the sale and use of higher blend renewable fuels.  More

Biodiesel Tax Credit Set to Lapse Members Only Join or Login

With Members of Congress back in their districts for the remainder of the year, it is clear that the biodiesel tax credit will not be extended before Jan. 1. Although on prior occasions after it has lapsed it has been extended retroactively the following year, it is not certain that this will occur next year. EPA Sides with NATSO, Fuel Marketers in RFS Decision

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced Nov. 10 that it is proposing to deny recent requests to change the "point of obligation" under the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) from refiners and importers downstream to "position holders" at the rack, including many fuel marketers and blenders. The decision marks an important positive development for NATSO members. NATSO has spent more than a year educating EPA and the entire fuel marketing community on this issue and urging EPA to maintain the current point of of obligation. More
