Coffee consumers are surprisingly aware of the roast level of the coffee they drink: light 11%, medium 61% and dark 18% with only 11% not being sure .(1) 

Of particular importance to professional drivers, two-thirds of consumers agree that coffee helps them to improve their mental focus and helps them get things done.(2)

Coffee drinkers find roast and ground coffee formats most appealing, particularly whole bean and then pre-ground coffees, followed by single serve cups and less enthusiastically by liquid or instant.(1) When establishing a coffee presence, highlight cues that suggest quality that is consistent with fresh roast and ground coffee.
