Broadway Flying J Travel Plazas raised $3,087.27 for breast cancer through its Pink Hat campaign.

During October's Breast Cancer Awareness month, the truckstops gave away pink Broadway Flying J hats for a suggested $5 donation with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the Susan G. Komen breast cancer fund.

The Pink Hat campaign took place at Broadway Flying J's seven facilities in Spokane, West Spokane, Wash., Belgrade and Hardin, Mont., Ellensburg and Pasco, Wash., and Battle Mountain, Nev.

The staff at Broadway Flying J were passionate about the cause and led the charge in empowering its community to help make a difference.

"Our employees got into it. Our customers got into it. We heard a lot of great stories about the battle and winning the battle and it moved us all. Any time we as an industry can do something good for somebody else, it is a good thing,” said Broadway Flying J owner Dan Alsaker.
