NATSO Submits Comments to NHTSA on CAFE Proposal

Added on: October 28, 2021

Abstract:

NATSO submitted comments on Oct. 26 in response to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s proposed rule on Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards. NATSO believes the CAFE standards should be technology-neutral and grounded in science. The most expeditious and economical way to increase fuel economy standards is through market-oriented, consumer focused policies that encourage all technologies to improve their respective emissions consequences therefore increasing the fuel economy for light-duty vehicles and retailers (and thus consumers) to gravitate toward the most environmentally and economically attractive solutions.
