NATSO, Others Request HOS Waiver for Fuel Haulers in Seven States

Added on: July 2, 2021

Abstract:

NATSO, along with the National Association of Convenience Stores, SIGMA and the Energy Marketers of America, on July 1 asked the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) for a 30-day waivers to hours-of-service regulations and weight limits for fuel haulers in seven states. Longstanding driver shortages coupled with supply constraints and wildfires have combined with an inevitable increase in gasoline demand heading into the July 4 weekend to create the potentital for fuel outages in those states. A 30-day waiver would help to minimize any disruptions. Waivers were requested in Arizona, California, Colorado, Nebraska, Nevada, Utah and Wyoming.
