NATSO on June 4, 2020, submitted a statement for the record regarding the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation hearing examining the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on transportation and infrastructure. In its statement, NATSO addresses the essential role of truckstops and travel plazas, the difficulties posed by the patchwork of state and local health regulations, concerns surrounding dine-in restaurant closures, employee retention and hiring, the need for reasonable liability protection and the need for infrastructure investment.
