Tolling Proponents Launch Aggressive Pro-Tolling Campaign

The International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association, the worldwide group representing toll facility owners and operators, said it is launching “an aggressive 2013 public awareness campaign to highlight the benefits of tolling." IBTTA said the campaign will increase awareness of tolling among the public, lawmakers and the media through policy documents and events held throughout the year. IBTTA is hoping to share its message with the public, lawmakers and media. The group said it also plans to “aggressively” combat “misleading information about tolling.” 

In addition, IBTTA head Patrick Jones sent a letter to House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Bill Shuster last month saying IBTTA was "very pleased to see you include tolling in the toolbox of options for financing our highways and keeping America moving."
