The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) sent a draft proposal to set 2020 renewable blending obligations (RVOs) under the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) to the White House Office of Management and Budget for review. This marks the final step before a proposed rule is released for public comment.

The draft proposal also includes the 2021 RVO for biomass-based diesel and “other changes” to the RFS program.

Information posted to the OMB website shows the draft proposal was delivered on May 6. However, the posting does not include any additional information on what “other changes” to the RFS program it might include.

The rule appears to be on track to meet a Nov. 30 deadline for a final rule.
