The U.S. economy showed moderate expansion in the past two months, as manufacturing, hiring and retail sales showed signs of strength, the Federal Reserve said in its April Beige Book. However several areas, including Cleveland, Richmond and Kansas City, cited concerns about finding qualified truck drivers.
