Lawmakers Petition EPA to Grant Waiver from Ethanol Quotas Amid Drought

A growing list of state governors, members of Congress and senators are petitioning the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to grant a waiver from ethanol quotas mandated by the federal Renewable Fuels Standard (RFS) because of continuing drought conditions in the midwest. EPA recently testified before Congress that it is "absolutely not" considering a waiver of the RFS.
