Iowa 80 Truckstop’s 35th Anniversary Walcott Truckers Jamboree, to be held at Iowa 80 Truckstop in Walcott, Iowa, will kick off July 10.

Started in 1979, the Jamboree is Iowa 80’s way of thanking drivers for all of their hard work and dedication in hauling America’s freight.

The first event attracted a few hundred people and featured a few exhibits, live music, food and a small display of antique trucks. Last year’s event attracted approximately 42,000 attendees.

“It’s a dual celebration this year,” says Delia Moon Meier. “We are celebrating America’s truckers and celebrating Iowa 80 Truckstop’s 50th Anniversary. We are honored to have been able to serve professional drivers for the past 50 years and look forward to another 50 and beyond,” says Meier.

Spanning three days the event will feature nearly 175 exhibits; a Super Truck Beauty Contest, Antique Truck Display; Iowa pork chop cookout; Trucker Olympics; and carnival games. There will also be several free concerts including Lindsay Lawler and Chris Janson courtesy of CAT Scale and John Anderson presented by Mobil Delvac. Friday afternoon attendees can enjoy a piece of cake from a custom made masterpiece by Carlo’s Bakery, Hoboken, New Jersey, aka “Cake Boss” to celebrate Iowa 80 Truckstop’s 50th Anniversary.
