The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) last week shut down 26 bus companies on the East Coast serving the I-95 corridor for safety violations. The closings mark the government's largest single safety crackdown of the motor coach industry in at least a decade. The American Bus Association (ABA) supported FMCSA's decision, saying it would have a positive effect on the safety of the traveling public.
