A Quick Look at Another Canadian Travel Center Location

After stopping at PetroCanada during my time up north, I was also able to visit Husky Energy’s location in Golden BC. This particular location is operated by the husband-and-wife team of Denise and Ken Scott.

As I shared with the Scotts in person, while the location is an older site and is quite small, it is one of the friendliest, cleanest and most well-stocked locations you will come across in your travels throughout Canada.

Denise and Ken do an exceptional job at understanding who their customers are and their product mix speaks to it. They have a tremendous amount of customers on tour from South Korea and their grab-n-go food selection as well as their immediate need foods from the grocery section, such as noodle soups, speak to that customer demographic.

They have a 108-seat restaurant with homestyle cooking and breakfast all day. They have laundry and shower facilities, and they accept Comdata, T-Chek and EFS at their pumps.

Husky Energy offers more than 40 locations along major routes in Canada. They are currently branded Esso on both diesel and gas.

Here is some of what I saw:
