Visa to Host Webinar on Skimming Trends at Automatic Fuel Dispensers

Visa will host a webinar on Nov. 14 to inform petroleum retailers on the latest skimming trends at automatic fuel dispensers (AFDs) and share best practices for investigation and incident response.

Card-skimming schemes and the use of fraudulent cards at AFDs are prolific challenges in the petroleum industry, Visa said. Visa actively monitors skimming trends and works closely with law enforcement officials, financial institutions and merchants to investigate skimming, counterfeiting and other types of fraud.

The webinar, which will take place at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, will cover:

  • How fraud is monitored across the Visa network.
  • Ways Visa can be a resource for merchants.
  • EMV standards, hardware and triple data encryption standards.

In addition, industry experts and a federal law enforcement officer will offer techniques to better defend businesses and customers against fraud.

Visa is encouraging fuel retailers to attend. Participants must register in advance and space is limited. To register, visit: https://events-na3.adobeconnect.com/content/connect/c1/1003435137/en/events/event/shared/default_template/event_landing.html?sco-id=1234148900&_charset_=utf-8
