The Alliance for Toll-Free Interstates (AFTI), of which NATSO is a member, urged truck drivers to get involved in the fight to keep existing interstates toll free in a recent article published in The Trucker.
The best way to combat tolling starts with truck drivers who work out on the roadways, Dale Bennett, President of the Virginia Trucking Association and AFTI member, said.
“Word of mouth is a wonderful thing," Bennett said. "Truckers don’t live in a vacuum … reach out and talk to the people you know, the community, family. Look, there are politicians out there that would rather toll your roads and waste your money.”
