I-70 Tolling Hits Roadblock In Missouri Legislature

After facing steep opposition from the trucking industry, fuel retailers and convenience stores - including the Missouri Petroleum Marketers & Convenience Store Association - plans to turn Interstate-70 in Missouri into a toll road appears to have hit a major roadblock in the state legislature. State Sen. Mike Kehoe, who introduced Senate Bill 752 earlier this year calling for a private consortium to rebuild and operate the interstate, said he would be "shocked" if the measure emerged from the Senate Transportation Committee this year.
