A federal appeals court panel has denied an appeal aimed at reversing preliminary approval of the $7.25 billion settlement of the antitrust case against Visa and Mastercard.
The majority of the plaintiffs in the lawsuit, including NATSO, opposed the settlement and will attempt to block final approval in the coming months. The appeals court action will put a hold on all appeals until the settlement receives final approval, which is not expected until September 2013.
