NATSO Educates Operators on Changing Technology Demands
Independent operators got the scoop from two industry experts on how
diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) will affect the marketplace once it is
introduced in 2010 when NATSO hosted the latest in its series of Great
Ideas! All Year Long conference calls on Oct. 23. With DEF being still a
relatively new subject with a significant potential impact on the
business atmosphere, this month’s call registered the highest
number of participants since NATSO began the monthly calls for operators
to share ideas.
Heavy-duty trucks built with technology using selective catalytic
reduction (SCR) in 2010 and beyond will have a DEF tank needing to be
filled just about every other time drivers fill up their fuel tanks.
NATSO’s Vice President of Government Affairs, Holly Alfano, and
Detroit Diesel’s Director of SCR Infrastructure, David Uschwald,
provided in-depth and relevant information to call participants on
anticipating demand for the fluid and how to prepare their locations.
